Thank you to everybody that voted! You brought me to the Top 3. I got to perform with the other Top 15 finalists in the orchestra with Foo’s LIVE at the 50th Grammys..it was one helluva time!

Here’s my ~60 second audition clip to play with the Foo Fighters at the Grammy’s this year. Playin ma electric violin It’s a Mark Wood Stingray..great for rock!

Ilovecereal, while the tone issue can be true on some acoustics, you need to be just as accurate on an electric guitar; you have something amplifying everything that you do. You’ll look at lot sloppier on an electric than on an acoustic.

The sensitivity of the pickup(s) determine just about everything. Making the switch back to my acoustic violin with no prep-time can really throw me sometimes.

Yo brian— you rock. You seriously do. I’ve been watching this a LOT trying to learn this specific improv. I’ve only managed to get the beginning e string crossing lol. I’m not a terrible violinist- i’m concertmaster at my high school, but there’s a big contrast to what’s on paper and what you’re watching. Took me 10 hours straight to get the entire fiddler on the roof solo by ear perfect. Anyway- i’m going to continue to watch- really great playing.May I ask you any questions that I may have?

Neeeeither was I, ditster. I wanted to use that bow instead of the wooden backup that I brought and the shop I found in town couldn’t re-hair it in time. That’s the downside of being busy.

I suppose I could buy a duplicate :-p
